OUR STATEMENT OF FAITH
What We Believe
JESUS CHRIST
Jesus Christ is the Son of God who is Himself the only way to the Father. He is true God and true man. John 3:16; John 14:6; and 1 Timothy 2:5
THE TRINITY
There is one God making Himself known in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. 2 Corinthians 13:14
GOD’S WORD
The Bible is the inspired Word of God and it is the written revelation of God to man and His will for all of mankind. 2 Timothy 3: 16-17
SALVATION
Salvation is by grace through faith in Christ. Man has no righteousness of his own. Romans 3:10; Ephesians 2:8
REPENTANCE
Upon sincere repentance and a whole-hearted acceptance of Christ, we are justified before God. Romans 10:6-10; 1 John 1:9
CHANGE
The change that takes place in the heart and life at conversion is a very real and eternal change that immediately exhibits the life of Christ in the new believer. 2 Corinthians 5:17; Galatians 2:20
GROWTH
It is the way of God that believers are sanctified daily, growing constantly in faith and grace. Hebrews 11:1; 1 Peter 5:10
BAPTISM
Baptism is by total immersion in water in obedience to Christ showing forth His death and resurrection. Matthew 28:19-20; Romans 6:1-6
COMMUNION
The Lord’s Supper was instituted by Jesus on the night before His crucifixion and is to be observed often by His followers. It is a sign of the new covenant through the body and blood of Christ. Luke 22:14-20; 1 Corinthians 11: 24-25
HOLY SPIRIT
The baptism of the Holy Spirit empowers believers after the same manner as described in the book of Acts.
DAILY WALK
It is the will of God that we walk daily in the Spirit. Galatians 5:16-26
SPIRITUAL FRUIT
The Holy Spirit has gifts to bestow upon the believer and we should show spiritual fruit as evidence of a Spirit-filled life. 1 Corinthians 12:1-11; Galatians 5:22
OUR DUTY
It is our sacred duty to identify ourselves with the visible church of Jesus Christ. Acts 16:5; Hebrews 10:25
LAW
Civil laws should be upheld at all times except in things opposed to the will of God. Romans 13:1-5
JUDGEMENT
Someday all shall stand before the judgment seat of Christ to receive eternal life or eternal death. Revelation 20:11-15; 2 Corinthians 5:10
HEAVEN
Heaven is the glorious eternal home of born-again believers. John 14:1-3; Revelation 7:9-17
HELL
Hell is the place of eternal separation from God for all who reject Jesus Christ as their Savior. Revelation 20:10-15
THE CALL
Soul winning is the call and duty of the New Testament church. This mission includes foreign nations as well as our own country. James 5:20 and Matthew 28:19-20
TITHES AND OFFERINGS
The method ordained of God for the support and spread of His kingdom is by giving tithes and offerings. Malachi 3:10; 2 Corinthians 9:7
We Further Believe
- There is one body of Christ in this world and all churches that name Jesus as Lord are a part of the one body, the church universal. Ephesians 2:14-22; 4:4-6
- We are to be a five-fold equipping center to train the body of Christ for the work of the ministry. This means we believe the apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor and teacher are the biblical order of training and equipping the members of the Body. Ephesians 4:11-16
- We are to seek the Kingdom of God and His righteousness above all else. We believe the Kingdom of God is the rule and reign of God over all of mankind and nations. As Christ and the early church preached the Kingdom of God, so do we. Matthew 6:33; John 3:5; Acts 1:3; 8:12; 19:8
- Jesus will one day visibly and physically return to this earth as Lord and King. Acts 1:9-ll; 1 Corinthians 15:20-26
- The church is to disciple believers to do the work of Jesus. Luke 4:18-19; John 14:12
- Jesus has one enemy who is Satan. Every believer is engaged in spiritual warfare and must learn how to overcome the demonic attacks of the evil one. Revelation 12:7-17; 2 Corinthians 2:11
- The church is to destroy the works of the devil and resist him steadfastly in the faith. Deliverance, healing and freedom come through Jesus Christ alone. 1 John 3:8-9; 1 Peter 5:8-9
- Every believer is to learn the ways and thoughts of God and pull down anything that would exalt itself against Him. Isaiah 55:6-11; 2 Corinthians 10:3-5
- Establishing the rule and reign (kingdom, government) of Christ personally and corporately is the call of every believer. Isaiah 9:7; Ephesians 3:10
